Transformative HR training for the modern CPO

As a Chief People Officer, you don’t need more models or theory – you need practical ways to lead change right now. That’s what this six-month programme is all about.

With eight sessions led by Lucy Adams and Karen Moran, founders of Disruptive HR and former CPOs themselves, you’ll explore the real challenges facing HR leaders today and get straight to solutions that are human, agile, and fit for the fast-paced world we work in.

You’ll connect with other senior HR leaders, share ideas, and learn what’s working in progressive organisations. We’ll help you shift your people strategy, rethink how HR operates, and build your impact with your leaders, your team, and your wider organisation.

Each month, you’ll join a live online session packed with fresh thinking, practical tools, and time to discuss and share. You’ll also get a one-to-one mentoring session with Lucy or Karen to focus on your role and shape your plans with expert support.

Plus, you’ll receive a 12-month membership to The Disruptive HR Club, giving you access to ongoing learning and a vibrant HR community well beyond the programme.

How does the programme work?

Each month you’ll attend live, virtual sessions delivered by Disruptive HR founders Lucy Adams and Karen Moran. The sessions are designed to give you plenty of new ideas and practical examples and allow time for discussion and sharing ideas.

You will also receive a personal mentoring session with Lucy or Karen to focus on your impact as a CPO and the development of your plans, plus you’ll get a complimentary 12-month membership to The Disruptive HR Club so that you can continue learning and connecting with our expansive HR community long after the programme ends.

A practical training programme designed for Chief People Officers and senior HR leaders who want to lead with confidence and impact:

  • Live monthly sessions. Join virtual sessions each month with Lucy Adams and Karen Moran. Sessions are packed with fresh thinking, practical tools, and real-world examples. Can’t make it live? Recordings are always available.

  • Led by experienced CPOs. Every session is delivered by Lucy and Karen, the founders of Disruptive HR. They bring deep experience and real-life insights – no boring theory.

  • Connect with peers. You’ll be part of a cohort of senior HR leaders attending the programme. It’s a great chance to share ideas, explore different approaches, and build a valuable network.
  • 12 months of extra support. You’ll get a full year’s membership to The Disruptive HR Club (worth £490), giving you access to extra training, practical resources, and fresh content to support your learning between sessions and long after it ends.
 
  • A personal mentoring session. You’ll get a one-to-one with Lucy or Karen to focus on whatever matters most to you –  whether it’s shaping your people strategy, influencing your Board, building confidence, or tackling a tricky challenge.

1. Introduction and the new challenges of the CPO

Kick off the programme by meeting your fellow participants and exploring what it really means to lead HR today. We’ll unpack the unique challenges facing CPOs and introduce the ‘3rd evolution of HR’ – helping you reflect on where HR is heading and what it means for your role.

Explore the key questions your strategy should answer, how to focus on the moments that matter most to employees, and how to use data to make smarter decisions. You’ll also learn how to present your strategy clearly and get buy-in across the business.

3. Leading organisational and culture change

Learn how to drive meaningful cultural and organisational change, influence your senior stakeholders, and avoid the common pitfalls of large-scale transformation. We’ll explore how to build a strong case for change, tailor your approach using employee insights, and communicate your initiatives with impact.

4. Performance management that works

Explore why traditional performance management no longer fits today’s workplace. Learn how to build the case for change, choose the right approach, handle concerns about removing ratings, and create a plan that actually drives performance.

Traditional talent management isn’t working. Learn how to modernise your approach with practical ways to build diverse pipelines, create more internal mobility, and make space for future leaders. We’ll also explore new thinking on succession planning and what really works today.

Explore the skills your HR team needs next – from consultancy and business partnering to digital and AI fluency. Learn how to shift traditional mindsets, future-proof your team, and start using AI in simple, practical ways.

8. Your personal mentoring session
A one-to-one with Lucy or Karen focused entirely on your needs – from strategy planning to boosting your personal impact.

We’re lucky to work with some of the best brands in the world. The programme is led by Lucy Adams and Karen Moran, founders of Disruptive HR and former Chief People Officers. Over the last 10 years, they’ve worked with hundreds of organisations around the world to challenge outdated HR and put progressive, practical thinking into action. Expect straight-talking advice grounded in real experience – not theory.

The programme spans 6 months, with seven live online sessions, each lasting 90 minutes to 2 hours. In addition to these sessions, participants will have access to one-on-one mentoring and resources through the Disruptive HR Club​​.

The cost of the programme is £3,500+VAT. This also includes 12 months membership of the Disruptive HR Club
